Instagram Lite lacks some of the features that can be found in the regular app, but hardly disrupts the overall experience. It still has the curated stream of photos, all the filters, the ability to watch and post Stories and to follow and be followed.

Instagram Lite cannot send and receive Direct messages, and when someone is texting you, it will not appear anywhere.
IGTV feature that allows verified users to post up to 60 minutes of video is also non-existent. The new search tabs are missing, and the whole Search engine does not have Suggestions.
After Instagram recently crossed the 1 billion active user threshold, but for continued growth, the Facebook-owned app will need to spread to developing regions of the world in which people use older phones with less storage space and slower Internet connections.
Instagram has really been stepping its game lately – over the course of a couple of months, the app has scored video chat, Instagram TV, various improvements to the regular and stories feeds, and many other new features and functionalities that improved the experience greatly.
Have in mind that the app might not be available in your country just yet as it seems to be rolling out in waves, but we hope that it will reach a wider audience soon-ish.
